An Iraqi man stopped a would-be suicide bomber from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham from reaching his intended target Thursday night, saving many in the process
According to Iraqi activists, the man was identified as Najih Shaker Al-Baldwai, a local resident of Balad. He physically stopped the terrorist from entering the shrine before the latter detonated his suicide vest, killing them both in the process.
In a reminder that Muslims are the main target of Islamic extremists and their brutality, an Iraqui Muslim man in credited with saving the lives of hundreds of his fellow citizens through sheer bravery and self-sacrifice.
The Islamic State Suicide Bomber aimed to hit the Sayyed Mohammead Shrine in his city of Balad City, however, Al-Baldwai threw himself on the bomber. The blast killed 37 and injured up to 70, but had he not intervened hundreds would have died.
The idea of a Muslim man saving lives by fighting ISIL extremism is damning to the Islamophobic narrative pushed by certain sects of the mainstream media and some in the alternative media as well.
The only stories on Muslims in the U.S. that make it on the mainstream are those than stoke divide. That seems to be a theme here lately, what do you think?
